What makes a great website?
Lori: When I’m going to a website and I’m doing an audit and I’m looking at what they can do for their patients and what they can do for future patients that are looking to come visit them, I want to see things in terms of the team. I want to see personality. I want to see color. I want to see a strong logo. I want to see really good visuals that really highlight what the patient can expect in the office even before they get there.
So, I want it to feel like I know exactly what I’m walking into even before I pick up that phone. And that’s what will make the difference whenever I’m choosing the doctor that I’m going to pick.
The way that we’re going to translate that over for our clients is that we’re going to use a really customized template and we’re going to build that out in order to show all of the personality. We’re going to arrange it in such a way that it is user-friendly – easy navigation, lots of white space on there, so that it doesn’t look too busy and they can really see who that doctor is and what they can offer.
What assets are needed?
Lori: The items that we’re going to need to build a website – really, it comes down to – we want the most information possible. So we want to know their target audience. We want to know what makes them tick. We want to know what their specialties are and what they can do for their patients that somebody else may not do. So, that might be advanced technology. That might be special training that they’ve done.
So all of those things being conveyed to us upfront – we can use that when we’re building the content and the strategy of the website.
Additionally, we’re going to need bios. We’re going to need your logo. And, most importantly, we’re going to need photos. That’s really what shows the personality of the office. So the more photos we have, the better the website looks. And if there’s any new patient forms, online forms, widgets, scheduling links, awards, testimonials, all of those are things that make a really great website and those are going to be needed in order to get started on the website build.
How long does it take?
Lori: Well, the timeframe from start to finish to build the website is, on average, about four months. But as soon as we begin the welcome call – that’s kind of when the timeline starts ticking.
So, from that point on, we start gathering the assets. And then however quickly the client gets the assets in will determine how quickly we do a design kickoff call.
Once we do the design kickoff call, then at that point, on average, it takes about two months to build, and then we launch after that.
